Advanced Education & Training

Dr. Amber Chu’s distinguished academic journey began at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the College of Creative Studies. This elite honors program admits only five undergraduates per year for advanced, graduate-level coursework. During her time there, Dr. Chu received the prestigious Randolph Wolf Research Award for her work in organic chemistry and graduated with Dean’s Honors. Driven by a passion for science and patient care, she earned her dental education at the New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 2002. She later advanced her specialization by completing a rigorous endodontic residency at the University of Southern California in 2008.​

 

Clinical Expertise & Credentials

Dr. Chu brings over two decades of robust clinical experience and practice management to her patients. Shortly after dental school, she opened her first private practice in Manhattan, expanding to own and manage three successful group practices over six years. After her residency, she relocated to Houston, Texas, where she established and operated a thriving solo endodontic practice for more than 12 years. In 2026, she moved to the Pacific Northwest to join the Puget Sound Endodontic Associates group practice alongside Dr. Arash Niazi, her former USC co-resident and longtime colleague. Dr. Chu is known for her caring, holistic approach to patient care, utilizing cutting-edge techniques such as laser-assisted and ozone-enhanced endodontic therapy to optimize healing and minimize post-operative discomfort.

Life Outside the Office

Immigrating to the United States from Taiwan at the age of 17, Dr. Chu developed a strong sense of adaptability and community that shapes her life both inside and outside the clinic. After building a successful career in major metropolitan hubs like New York and Houston, she chose to relocate to the Pacific Northwest in 2026 to begin her next chapter. She enjoys immersing herself in the vibrant culture and natural beauty of her new home, balancing her deep commitment to advanced patient care with personal wellness and community connection.
